How to create your first plan in Margo


Margo helps you build clear, actionable marketing plans in minutes. Here’s how to create your first plan in Margo.


1. Head to the plan generator

To get started, select Generate a plan.


    2. Choose your plan type

    Pick the plan that best fits what you’re trying to do:

    • Marketing plans
      Ideal for long-term planning (quarterly or annual) with a clear, top-level view
    • Go-to-market plans
      Perfect for launching or relaunching a product, service, or feature
    • Campaign plans
      Great for short-term, tactical activity focused on a specific audience or offer
    • Content plans
      Designed to generate content ideas that guide your audience toward purchase
    • ABM plans
      Best for targeting specific companies or key accounts, closely aligned with sales

    3. Set up your plan

    Choose what the plan is for (company, portfolio, or product)

    Customise your plan by:

    • Target geography
    • Goals
    • Ideal customer profile(s)
    • Persona(s)
    • Duration
    • Budget
    • Launch date

    You can also add notes to give Margo more context — anything that helps shape a better plan.


    4. Generate and refine your plan

    • Give your plan a name
    • Click Preview plan

    Margo will generate your plan in seconds ✨

    From there, you can:

    • Edit any section
    • Fine-tune the details
    • Download it as a Word document

    5. Save your plan for later

    Your plan will be saved in Saved plans, so you can revisit, review, and update it anytime.
